Privacy Policy

JobStar (“JobStar”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a job marketplace operated by Abservetech, based in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. We provide a website and two mobile apps — the JobStar candidate (job seeker) app and the JobStar Employer (recruiter) app — that connect candidates with employers. Abservetech is the data controller responsible for your personal data described in this policy.

This policy explains what data we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have — including how to delete your account and data.

We collect the following categories of personal data:

• Account information — your name, email address, mobile phone number, password (stored only as a secure hash), and account role (candidate or employer).
• Profile information — for candidates: your resume/CV, work experience, education, skills, and preferred job locations. For employers: your company name, logo, designation, and company details.
• Application & hiring activity — jobs you post, jobs you apply to, applications you receive, shortlists, and messages exchanged through the platform.
• Transaction information — records of plan purchases, pay-per-post orders, and GST invoices. Card and payment-instrument details are processed by our payment provider and are not stored on our servers.
• Device & usage information — app and website usage, IP address, device type, and push-notification tokens used to deliver notifications.

• To create and operate your account and provide the service.
• To match candidates with relevant jobs and let employers review and contact applicants.
• To verify your identity using one-time passwords (OTP) sent by SMS or email.
• To process purchases, generate invoices, and meet our tax and accounting obligations.
• To send service notifications and respond to your support requests.
• To keep the platform secure and prevent fraud and abuse.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as needed to run the service:

• With employers and candidates — when you apply to a job, the employer who posted it can view your profile and application. When an employer contacts you, your relevant details are shared with them.
• Service providers — hosting, SMS and email delivery, and payment processing partners who handle data on our behalf under contract.
• Legal reasons — when required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.

We keep your personal data only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account (see section 7), we remove or anonymise your personal data and profile. We retain anonymised transaction and tax records (such as GST invoices) for the period required by applicable law.

You can, at any time:

• Access and update your profile and account information.
• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Delete your account and personal data.
• Withdraw applications and control your visibility.

You can delete your account and personal data directly from within the app: open Profile → Delete account and confirm. Your account is removed immediately and you are signed out on all devices.

We protect your data with industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and review our practices regularly.

JobStar is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Our website uses essential cookies to keep you signed in and to operate core features. We do not use them to sell your data.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
